Born in Cambrai in 1959, in the Nord department, I live more in books about “adventures in hot countries” than in the dark and cold places that saw me grow up.
In the books I also find beautiful illustrations, paintings by great artists that I draw and redraw.
In summer, in Noirmoutier, it is the watercolors of fishing boats that fascinate me, between shrimp fishing and sailing with the family scoundrel.

In 1982, it was the jump to the Great South: the Ivory Coast to finally see, touch, smell, hear the Africa of my dreams.
In the street, people don't allow themselves to be photographed, so I do sketches, lots of sketches that I sometimes give to the women and children I meet.
Ivory Coast is a starting point for the surrounding countries: Mali, Upper Volta (from one trip to another, it changes its name, Burkina Fasso), Niger, Togo, Benin. I stayed there for two years.
And then, the return to France, to Nice in 1985, from where I leave as often as possible for other distant countries: South Africa, Kenya, Tunisia, China, Ecuador, Vietnam , Morocco, Venezuela, again Benin, Turkey. There is also Europe and its wonders, especially in Italy, Spain, Portugal and Greece.
From these trips, thanks to the photos, texts and sketches, there have also returned, and continue to arrive, paintings.

Four years spent on the island of Mayotte allowed me to rediscover my favorite painting themes: colorful scenes of life animated by women and children, peoples with deep and distant cultures that have attracted me for so long.

Since 2007 I have been a student at the municipal school of visual arts in Nice (villa Thiole). I am moving towards a freer practice of painting and “objects”.
I am also a volunteer with the association “¨Partage” to paint with the elderly at the University Hospital of Nice and participate in the mosaic project for the wall of the town hall annexed to the Val Fleurie (with the association “Créons ensemble” ).
