Born in Seigy, in Loir et Cher, in Tourain in 1929, he entered the School of Fine Arts in Tours in 1945 where he was patronized by Maurice Mathurin, a painter with an impressionist tendency who gave him a love of light. . In 1950 he entered the National School of Fine Arts in Paris, in the studio of Jean Dupas. He then spent 27 months in North Africa, for his military service and came back with a pronounced taste for ochre, brown colors and the luminosity of desert lands. He then painted oil landscapes with powerful material. In October 1957 he spent two years in Spain, after obtaining the Casa Velasquez Prize. He will then win numerous prizes and exhibit in France and abroad. In 1970 he was appointed Prefessor at the Duperré School of Applied Arts in Paris. He has produced numerous lithographs as well as mural animations (mosaics) for colleges and high schools. It appears in the collections of the State and the City of Paris as well as in numerous private collections. Honorary Professor and Knight in the Order of Academic Palms. He has been painting sensual and dreamlike landscapes in acrylic for more than thirty years.
