I am an artist based in the UK.
I have a degree in Fine Art. This enabled me to further develop skills in drawing, painting, printmaking, photography and sculpture. I have studied history, biology, anatomy and physiology and complementary therapy.
My training and experience also includes ceramics, digital art, video and film production.
These areas of skill and experience continue to be part of my art practice.

Themes explore the beauty and complexity of nature, conservation and appreciation of the natural world.
In photography and film I enjoy exploring the concept of time. Capturing subjects in natural light. Interested in theatrical lighting, ’Chiaroscuro’ light and dark shadows. Creating night time photography and videos, magic of city lighting and night time activity. Also developing multimedia projects.
Enjoy photographing public events. Examples- Street Performance artists. Rock concerts. Also theatre groups at Dublin Fringe Festival.
I am also influenced by science, history, films and music.
Travel and other cultures also deeply influence my work.
I am currently creating photography, digital imagery, short films, drawings and watercolours.
Subjects explored are landscape, light, Chiaroscuro, films, and history.
I am currently creating landscape art, portraits and also creating artworks influenced by the Chiaroscuro technique.
Exhibited and worked with artists in the UK and Ireland. As well as Cyprus, France, Holland, Russia and North America and South America, and with artists from Japan, Taiwan and Korea.
My main inspiration comes from nature; exploring wildlife, environment/ conservation awareness and astronomy. Abstract/ imaginative landscapes express introspective feelings, as a way of conveying emotional concerns.
The art I create has realism, illusion and depth but also abstract in form. Capturing time and light are continuing themes in the imagery I create.
Work mainly in oils and mixed media, experience of using charcoals, pastels, inks, gouache, watercolour, collage, analytical drawing, also photography, printmaking, ceramics. Also worked with digital Photoshop to create digital imagery, designs and imagery for my own website.
Enthusiastic traveller, been to Denmark, Brittany and Normandy (France), Florence and Venice (Italy), Also lived for short periods in Dublin (Ireland) and Cyprus. Travelling and experiencing other cultures brings new inspiration to my work.
