La série Whirling Inside relie photographies, vidéos, installation et performances.
Sur des supports recyclés qu’elle peint et photographie (affiches d’anciens spectacles) Alexia Traore transcrit les sensations de son processus créatif, et la complexité d’un quotidien d’artiste et de mère. Le contraste des couleurs évoque cette oscillation permanente entre liberté et contraintes. Et un mouvement invisible qu’elle ressent, entre ombre et lumière, conscient ou non. Une danse perpétuelle où fusionnent passé et présent. Souffle, battement de coeur, résonance de voix familières ou inconnues.
« Maître, je pense à cette nuit, je regardais les derviches, et je pleurais.
Peut être avez vous pensé que je pleurais de ne pas danser
Vous êtes venu me dire que je tournais avec eux,
Sans me lever…à l’intérieur
Mais c’était d’être si près d’eux que je pleurais
