The true story of the falling Icarus. Original professional painting. It is probably no coincidence that this work was done on the eve of the coronovirus pandemic and the global economic crisis. Greek mythology is right as always.

It is about thinking the body feeling - and in all the possible range of this term: the body, gifted with sensation, the ability to feel and designate, and the thing on the side of meaning, which any sense indicates as truth. The “body” in this context does not define a certain “substance” that is different from some other, as the length is different from thinking, it determines the difference itself, thanks to which only the “external” and the “internal” can differentiate. The body is no longer different of anything, it distinguishes and distinguishes itself. Distinguishing itself, it distinguishes a certain self — it distinguishes itself as a “self” —and, proceeding from this, it distinguishes two systems or two registers that appear to each other as “internal” and “external.” But “internal” in this case is not a priori, not the inner space of the body, understood as a physiological unity, closed on itself, or even this inner space in the sense of the non-sensory content of some sensory perceptible shell.

Aleksey Savolsky is a contemporary artist who started gaining his artwork experience in the 90-ies. He was born in Budapest, where he spent his childhood. He currently lives and works in Moscow.

After studying painting and drawing with teachers from the Moscow State Academy of Art and Industry (Moscow State Stroganov Academy of Industrial and Applied Arts ), the Hungarian University of Fine Arts, and the Moscow Architectural Institute, he entered the Budapest Technical University and the Moscow Architectural Institute. In 1995 he graduated from the Moscow Architectural Institute. He was involved in a number of creative activities: painting, design, applied arts, set design, interior design, and architecture.

Alexey is interested in exploring the relationship between the forms of content and the forms of expression of the surrounding world and their transformation into a picture of the world in the eyes of an observer. Inclined to philosophical reflection, a critical attitude to everything institutional. He works in oil and acrylic on canvas and makes digital art works.
