"La visite avait été déprogrammée et elle était à présent prévue en fin d’après midi. Entretemps un violent orage avait secoué les environs. L’allée centrale du jardin présentait un certain désordre comme un début d’abandon annoncé et dans le recoin de la serre quelques seaux abandonnés au pied d’un basilic témoignaient d’une activité jardinière et faisaient le bonheur d’un escargot qui traçait son chemin sur le bord émoussé encore mouillé de pluie."
