"Pinceau" Painting by Akso

Born in 1977, he lives and works in the Paris region.

Self-taught Ile-de-France artist AKSO began painting in 1992, for nearly 10 years he traced his name in all possible forms and media. He works in particular in the wastelands around Paris through numerous collective frescoes. At the end of the 90s, he participated through various associations in major aerosol decoration projects for certain towns in the Paris region and public companies.

In 2001, he changed his medium by creating stickers, truly unique miniature works visible throughout Paris in the form of series which could reach ten to several thousand copies (highly collected by sticker lovers). This is the premise of artistic work in the studio which took on its full dimension around 2009: considering that graffiti is an exclusively urban expression, he began to mix techniques and influences on the canvas (Kandinsky, Miro, Os Gêmeos , Smael, Can2, Smash etc...) to find new expressiveness. His technique remains in the spirit of the creative process specific to graffiti: flat areas of paint which define the surface like the roughness of a wall, spontaneity, speed of execution and harmony of colors.
