Adolphe CABON was born in Quimper (Finistère), on December 2, 1903. He did his military service (E.O.R.) in Saint-Maixant in 1923.
After graduating from the Ecole Supérieure de Commerce in Angers, he did sales for a few years in Quimper, then became a furniture dealer in Flers-de-l'Orne in Normandy in 1930.

Mobilized in September 1939 as a Reserve Lieutenant, he was taken prisoner at Sainte-Marie-aux-Mines and interned at OFLAG XVII A. Repatriated and demobilized in November 1941, he sold his furniture store to practice the profession of decorator draftsman, in furniture design, model making and advertising.
He was mobilized again in October 1944 in Bayeux then in Caen, until October 1945 and was then promoted to the rank of Reserve Captain.

He was one of the founders of the "Peintres du Bocage" and their President for 17 years.
He was a talented draughtsman and watercolourist and he also did oil painting, miniature, illustration and sculpture.

Curator of the Flers Museum, he worked on the restoration of the Château de Flers, enhanced the kitchens of the château with rustic Norman furniture and set up a museum of old weaving looms, thanks to donations and acquisitions. He had several rooms of the old apartments of the castle restored and reinstalled the Art Museum, which has a rich collection of paintings and sculptures from the 16th to the 20th century (During the 39/45 war, all the collections had been put in crates).
He illustrated the review of the art and history society "Le Pays Bas-Normand".

He married in Paris in 1926 with Adeline DORET 1902-1973 and had 3 children: Thérèse 1927-2002, Yves born in 1929 and Michel born in 1939, who attended the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs and who also paints and sculpts.
He died in Paris on January 13, 1975. He was an Officer of the Legion of Honor and Croix de Guerre 1939-1945.
