The alpha robot 024 – «Petacum» is 39 cm high; 16 cm wide and 13 cm deep. It weighs 2340 grams. This upcycling work has been carried out with recycled materials from the tools used in mining prospecting and from the demolition of old rural buildings. The piece is conceived as an anthropomorphic robotic sculpture with lighting functions to be used as an ambient desk or table lamp. It offers front lighting with high-brightness white LEDs on the front casing of the piece and position and red LEDs on the top of the sculpture's head. Both run on 12-volt direct current through a rear power outlet and are operated by a side switch.

Alfredo Blasco Nuin is an artist who uses discarded materials, the drawer of useless objects, the discarded items, and the gadgets of our industrial-technological past, which are his main source of inspiration. The search for the elements that make up the unrepeatable morphology of his sculptures is as essential as the process of their assembly.

In this search process, he shapes each of his works by means of notes and diagrams that will later be of help to him in his workshop. Since he always integrates obsolete industrial elements in his works, a significant part of his creations are composed of metal pieces, but he does not exclude other materials such as bakelite, glass, wood, and other metals.

The assembly process is the alma mater of his sculptures, which are always anthropomorphic and robotic. He uses all the techniques of the union to conform to the finishes. From cold welding, epoxy adhesives, or mechanical joints, without making up the traces of the passage of time in the materials as he believes that there is something honorable in the use and natural wear of things that deserve to be preserved as an added value.

Alfredo Blasco Nuin is working and living in Spain. He has a degree in Information and Communication Sciences, journalist and designer. In his professional career, he has always been dedicated to communication, design, and advertising. He has held management positions related to these areas, both online and offline for more than three decades. In recent years he has been applying his experience and knowledge to the artistic creation of sculptures, posters, and designs that are based on the reuse and recycling of materials of preferably industrial origin.
