En esta obra planteo, entre otras cuestiones, la identidad, porque en demasiados sitios y momentos, la cuestión de género o sexo supone, en sí misma, una marginación de la persona por el hecho de ponerle una etiqueta. El hecho de nacer hombre o nacer mujer determinará el papel o rol que la sociedad le imponga. Si nace hombre, se le considera fuerte y superior, si es mujer, débil e inferior.
Así, en muchos países desarrollados la persona nacida mujer al casarse toma el apellido del marido, perdiendo el suyo, y los hijos que ella ha parido llevarán el apellido del padre; en otros, le impedirán el acceso a la educación y será obligada a vivir en el mayor de los anonimatos: sin rostro, oculto tras el burka. ¿Es necesario poner más ejemplos?
