People often asked me how long I have been doing ceramic. Rather ironic, but truthfully, it has been as long my very first fondest memory stuck in my head.
I grew up in a small village in Malaysia, surrounded by hills; stretched along the coast like a gigantic dragon surrounding the beach. Clay has always been a big part of our traditional daily life. I remember helping my mother digging clay in the river to make jars, cooking pots, plates and cups, even to make stove we used for cooking.
I enjoy making dance movements, as if they are from my own dance movement which is why I chose human nature as my favourite subject. I don’t really think much when I work; normally I just let my hands do the job and just follow what my heart feels at east most. I have placed my trust in natural forces and human emotions, not in violent. That is why my ceramic is unfailingly appealing without falling prey to superficiality. Each one is authentic because it creates the integrity of feelings, form and function.
Art is the only thing that makes me lucky and happy. It cures my sadness, my fear and enable me to express myself without any doubts. My full range of emotions is my palette with which I bring colours to my life. I have found the greatest joy of living is to apperciate the gift from God and to be able to share the beauty with others.
