Eira Arrate Hechavarría, born in 1973 in Santiago de Cuba, is a versatile artist recognized for her practice in plastic arts and photography. A member of the Registro del Creador de las Artes Plásticas and the Agencia de Autores Visuales (ADAVIS), she received rigorous training in plastic arts between 1986 and 1991, notably at the Escuela Nacional de Artes Plásticas (ENA) in Havana.
Since 1992, Eira has worked as a specialist in plastic arts at the Galería de Arte "Mariano Rodríguez" in Havana, before turning to teaching in 1994 at the Villa Panamericana. In 1996, she became an independent creator, developing a diversified career that has led her to exhibit her works throughout the world.
Her solo exhibitions include notable presentations such as “BINGO” and “Filling the Space” in 2011, as well as “Idea to Idea” in 2010. Her works have been shown in renowned galleries such as the Galería de Arte “Concha Ferrán” in Havana and the Galería “Arte en Madrid” in Spain. She has also participated in group exhibitions such as “Arte Cubano en Sarasota” and “Profundamente Superficiales”, in parallel with the Havana Biennial.
