Diego Rivera was a Mexican painter and muralist who was born on December 8, 1886, and died on November 24, 1957. His full name was Diego María de la Concepción Juan Nepomuceno Estanislao de la Rivera y Barrientos Acosta y Rodrígue. Even though his parents were Catholic, he said he didn't believe in God and had some Jewish traits. His family was said to be rich, so that could be why. His love of art was clear from a young age. His father wanted him to go into the military, but by the time he was ten, he knew he wanted to study art, so he trained himself for that. First, he tried cubism, but then he moved on to post impressionism. In the end, he came up with his own style. In fact, his art showed how people in the working class lived. His works also show the culture of the people who lived in Mexico before the Spanish came. When it came to his art, he wasn't willing to give in, even if it meant losing a commission. Maybe for the same reason that none of his marriages lasted long.
