Ermita de Sant Sebastian,
Cervera del maestre

The association "El Mundo Unido en Cervera del Maestre" with the support of the mayor Adolfo Sanmartin, is pleased to present an exhibition to showcase a selection of large and medium works from five European artists all of whom are based in the area of Cervera de Maestre.
Works will be on exhibit at the Ermita de San Sebastian, Cervera del Maestre, from 1st to 7th August, with an opening reception, Saturday 1st August, 19hr to 22hr.
In collaboration with two local galleries, five established artists of Spanish, German and French nationalities will be featured on the show: Sonia Domenech, Genevieve Girot, Juan Petry, Katrin Schwindenhammer and Sibylle Werkmeister.
Their works convey a diverse selection of art styles and mediums including oil, acrylic, water colour as well as a social interactive sculpture.
Sonia's work is framed by abstract symbolism. Each work is a compositional game between the simplicity of the circle and the organic complexity of colours and landscapes.
Genevieve's painting is constantly looking for a subjective harmony and personal balance, a game of patterns, shapes and colours. An abstract and intuitive painting.
Juan, co-founder of the Museo de Arte Contemporaneo MUARCO - will present a social sculpture and invite visitors to become part of his international work of art.
Katrin's large-format work is about the interplay of various layers of paint, whose combinations create an intense atmosphere. The paintings have a direct effect on the senses.
Sibylle was the founder, director and lecturer at the Free Art Academy Überlingen, Germany. Her works with large formats are subject to a fascinating play of people, architecture, lines and colours that become a new abstract reality. Her work hangs in collections, museums, public buildings, companies and private houses.
The association "The World United in Cervera del Maestre" was founded in August 2019 at the initiative of the town hall for the benefit of citizens from different countries of the world living in the municipality.
Opening hours of the exhibition at Ermita de San Sebastian, Calle Doctor Ballester: Saturday 19hr to 22hr. Sunday to Friday, 11hr -13hr and 18hr to 20hr (also by appointment in advance).
