Anyone can fall into a position called a “victim”. This happens for various reasons: from low self-esteem due to the requirements of parents and dependence on other people's opinions, to real physical or psychological violence. Sometimes this sacrifice can be far-fetched. A person with a victim complex suffers from a soul, he is disappointed, suffers greatly and requires fulfillment of a duty in relation to himself, but he is not able to get enough or to thank. Instead of coping with difficulties, he chooses a safer way to run, do nothing or demand other decisions. Or he can develop compelling and sophisticated explanations in support of ideas, which he then uses to explain his situation to himself and others.
In these pictures I tried to reflect my understanding of such a passive struggle and a certain contrast of the external warm world and the internal feeling of helplessness, loss of control, strong guilt, shame and self-accusation.
And this was the first time the girl burst into tears, having received a print from me.
My art speaks to people who value emotional connection, like to think and want to see other perspectives and troubles behind the things. My art also allows me to understand that there’s no clear view of things and situations. My art is a way to articulate what's hard to say.
I explore the topics of emotions, relationships and self acceptance. Each photograph that you see here will take you on a journey into a reality of people’s thought’s and doings and at the same time, will make you think of the events and things in your own life that impacted you the most and maybe turned out to be life-changing.
A grain of melancholy, but gentle and quiet. It can be like a reminder that nothing is what it seems and you should always go deeper to perceive the true meaning.
Each visual story here has a definite plot but is always to interpretation. I prepare carefully all concepts and the production of the idea always take a long time.
