French-Algerian visual artist was born in 29/03/1990 to Chelghoum Laid, Algeria.
He makes a part of his secondary schooling to the high school technicom Kheira Zerrouki de Chelghoum Laid, then to Constantine's School of Fine Arts, and also in other establishments. His father, Salim HAFDI, is a chéf cooks and practises the amateur butcher's shop.

Since 2011 houssam participated in 50 exhibitions in Algeria.

In 2014, was nominated the president of cultural club "NADI EL IBDAA EL Fanni" DASCS at the university of Constantine 3.

IN 2014 commissioner of the exhibitions of the conferences and the workshops who has welcomes more than 200 artists.

On March 2nd, 2016, he(it) was recognized visual artist Official by the advice(council) of the Arts and Letters, the Algeria Ministry of Culture, then on August 08th, 2017 On June 06th, 2016, he receives the national diploma of the fine arts(School of Fine Arts) to Constantine's School of Fine Arts (first of the class), in Algeria.

Proud of his origins Algerian, he took a stand for possible French-Algerian exchange with the cultural center of the CARROZ OF ARACHES, France.

In 2015, in 25 years, houssam leave Algeria to go to expose(explain) in Europe (France, Italy, Lithuania, Holland, Belgium, Spain),

In 2016, a 12 meter fresco is to inaugurate on his/her behalf in Cultural center of the CARROZ OF ARACHES, the same year, he(it) meets the pupils of school complex of sévery, during the studios(workshops) of one-design sailboat(monotype), then installed(settled) in France in 2016 to Denain, to expose to the North of France, (Béthune, Touquet, Valenciennes).

After one the years of his defense houssa to give a conference to the palace of the culture of Constantine Mohamed El Aïd El Khalifa with his ex-professor and the director(manager) of the School of Fine Arts of Constantine Mr Sadek Amine Khoja, subject of conference is The influence of the modern art by the African art.

He was honord Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres by the municipality of Chelghoum Laid.

Paintings series 2018 (English)cosmopolitanism, identity and the future.

The last serie of paintings 2018, treat the subjects of cosmopolitanism, identity and the future. it is an approching between great thinkers of 19 and 20th centry Emmanuel kant,Sigmund Freud,Carl Gustav Jung, Ralph Waldo Emerson,Butler judith,michel foucault, Slavoj Žižek and others.. that leads the research about enlightenment and what affected the society, and framing the future.

with my background of the studies in graphic design by coursera, in the california institute of arts, the modern the post modern by wesleyan university, and the Postwar Abstract Painting by The Museum of Modern Art New York. therefor, modern techniques from abstract expressionism, pop art surrealism, and calligraphy were applied in my final research .
