David Maars, born 15 December 1973 in Sarcelles (France), is a versatile self-taught artist who works as much in visual arts (Painting, Installation, fresco, drawing, stencil, textile design), that in musical postproduction, live performance...

After studying graphic and plastic art in Paris (EDTA Sornas) and in the provinces at the School of Fine Arts, he left France in 1995 to settle in Berlin.

In Berlin, he turned to music and founded various experimental group projects: “Mancmal-à-Makeup, Platzblanche, DJ Diskopath, Cats on Peacocks...”

Organizer of events, in 2010 Together with Andreas Schwarz and Emmanuel Hubaut, he founded the musical event ICH BIN EIN BERLINER “IN” Festival at SO36 in Berlin.

In August 2019 he founded with Andreas Schwarz the collective of artists «DIE KETTE (The chain)» which brings together 13 artists, all interdisciplinary and active in the related arts of fine arts - cinema, theatre, events, music and literature.(Tata Christiane, J. Influence, artwork & technique: 

Stimulated by the works of G.Klimt, E.Schiele, J.Beuys, Pop Art of The pop "Andy Warhol", urban/street art, «sub»culture, underground scene, Queer movement, "la callas" to «D.Galás", from E.Satie to post-punk, from disco to electroclash, Maars mixes the disciplines and these heteroclite sources.

Painting on canvas (Acrylic)+synthetic hair, painting on textile «hairy-shirt» (Acryl.+Synthetic H.), installation, video, conceptual and interactive artwork, the artist uses QR code* to communicate with the spectator.
