Chantal Proulx is een hedendaagse Frans-Canadese schilder. Na te hebben geëxperimenteerd met verschillende media zoals beeldhouwkunst, schilderen op zijde en aquarel, nam ze uiteindelijk acrylverf en gemengde technieken over. Haar doel met haar kunst is om leefomgevingen vreugdevoller en aantrekkelijker te maken voor het oog, waardoor emotie bij de toeschouwer ontstaat. Proulx gebruikt levendige kleuren en snelle gebaren op een bijna onbewuste manier. Ze voegt textuur toe met grafiet, aquarelpotloden of houtskool terwijl de verf nog nat is.
