When love hurts, is it truly worth it? When going through breakups and being betrayed shatters your heart and your trust in everybody, how can you love ever again? I have found that the answers to these questions are beautifully reflected in the story of Indy and Ryan from the Windy City series - tale of heartbreak, healing, and rediscovering love.
After a breakup, we all cope differently. Some embrace their newfound freedom, others bury themselves in their careers, running far from anything that resembles love. Many would say it’s not worth the pain. But I’m a romantic at heart, someone who believes that the best is always yet to come. Love isn’t easy, but with the right person, it becomes the most rewarding journey of all. If you’re in the midst of heartbreak, let this be your reminder: you haven’t found your person yet, but they’re already making their way to you.
This painting tells that story. The red lines symbolize the wounds and the love we’ve given and lost along the way. The black and white backgrounds reflect our struggles from the past and the endless possibilities waiting in the future. And then there’s the golden rain—a reminder that blessings will come, but only when we take the time to heal, rebuild, and trust that our one and only is worth the wait.
