2016 return of labyrinth's- the moon
So after a long summer of cycling and getting ready for graduation and my next year of university I decided that I hadn't created any artwork for over a year. It was time for a change and i needed inspiration. having watched a few movies it was time to step up to the plate or sheet as the case may be to get started. following a cycle outing it occurred to me that all my labyrinths previously had been based on rural locations or organisms on Earth but I had never ventured yet into a more abstract or different place to that familiar to most people.
Aliens of the big traditional green variety seemed to much of a jump from the underlying theme of natural scenes for this stage in my drawing hobby so I thought of the moon to help create something different. the surface was researched before I even began, looking into the craters and volcanoes which exist there. Day and night was not incorporated with lighting as only 1 half of the moon is dark and in 2D drawings I assumed the light side was being depicted.
Although i I am a scientist the science was never the focus of this design it was creativity but tailored to not replicate but resemble the real thing through the media of paper and ink and the design of a maze.
Photo editing was helped by my grandad and am hoping to broaden access to this new design by uploading soon to a multitude of other art websites under my name.

Thanks for reading and I will be creating more designs over future summers or holidays.
