S. Serra Erdoğan : Hello, first of all, could you tell us a little about yourself?
Ayşe Keleş : I was born in Edirne Keşan district. Due to my father's duty at the consulate, I continued my education with my grandmother for a while. While I was planning to go to my family when the school was over, I won Edirne Teachers' School for Girls (later turned into a high school). I was interested in every branch of art. Painting, tile, ceramics I was interested in arts. After graduating from school, I went abroad to my family. When the dream of being a teacher came to an end with the change in law, I joined the courses given by the National Education and became a beautician, then took formation and became a trainer. I married that resulted in separation. I still live in İzmir Karşıyaka.
S. Serra Erdoğan : What do you think is authorship ?
Ayşe Keleş : Writing is the art of presenting works that are kneaded with knowledge, talent, creativity, imagination and emotion like a painter.
Q. Serra Erdoğan : What is the event or situation that left the most traces in your life? Ayşe Keleş : I like to live by observing life. That's why I've encountered so many situations that have left their mark in my life... We planted an apricot tree in our garden with my father. Meanwhile, my father passed away. I open my bedroom window every morning and love the leaves of that tree, missing my father. I would start my work by remembering it. I gathered the first fruits and shared them with my neighbors for tasting. In the hottest period of İzmir, I opened the curtain again in the morning. The tree was cut close to the root. At the request of a manager with a high ego. Then the tree dried up and I still feel very sad. I prefer it. One evening, I again put food on the side of the street with a pot in my hand. I was about to turn around and go when I saw an old person reach out and take that food. I can tell hundreds of events like this that left a mark in my life.
Q. Serra Erdoğan : How did you decide to write your book ? Can you tell us a little about the content of your book?
Ayşe Keleş : Let me talk about how I decided not to write but to publish a book. I have been writing since I was a child and I am a fan of Ayşe Kulin. One day I took a walk on the beach and came home. I stopped by the bookstore. It must be because I love Ayşe Kulin's autograph day... I bought a book right away and when it was my turn to sign it, I told her how beautifully and emotionally she wrote. My poems had accumulated so much that I thought my first book should be my poems... I took the first step, albeit a little timid. I said I love to live by observing. I felt sorry for every breakup. I got angry at betrayal. I defied loneliness. I resisted life. I loved. I fell in love. I left. I hoped. .Like other people...A life lived through incompleteness...Many poems composed and brought to life...
S. Serra Erdoğan : Your imagination must be wide and colorful. What can you say about it?
Ayşe Keleş : A little boy looked into my eyes and said, “Do you see life in blue?” I loved your hair, too. I think I like dreaming more in blue. Living by adding a little bit of blue to every color...
S. Serra Erdoğan : If not when writing don't you have any (eg, drinking tea and coffee) Ayşe Keleş : I don't have my essentials. Especially if it's something you can eat and drink... I love coffee and writing. I also drink my coffee whenever I find it appropriate, and I write my article...
S. Serra Erdoğan : A writer What does time mean for?
Ayşe Keleş : Let's say for people. Time flies like water from a tap. We have a chance to stop the water flowing from the tap, but it is not possible to stop time. Every person should make good use of every moment. I think that he should do something that will add beauty to life.
Q. Serra Erdoğan : How does your daily life affect your pen?
Ayşe Keleş : Life goes on as if every day is the same thing. Herds of elephants are destroyed just for the female. Most importantly, children are killed. Hunger, misery, brutality marks every day. It is impossible not to be affected. If I can only write, I just do it. If I can help, I help. I'm entering.
Q. Serra Erdoğan : Is there a new book on the horizon ?
Ayşe Keleş : There are a few books on the horizon. I am thinking of a new poetry book. I have a science fiction book yet to be completed. I am preparing a novel that also includes sections from my life. I have yet to write a few chapters. These are the ones that are on the horizon for now...
S. Serra Erdoğan : What are your messages to your readers as a writer?
Ayşe Keleş : My brother used to hand me a book every time I saw it instead of chocolate. That's how my reading habit started. I learned to discover my inner me and to get out of myself. Good habits always lead to beauty. I think children and animals are angels. I would like to share some of the income from my book with HAYTAP. We get cold without poetry... I say let's meet in poems and warm up together. I would like to thank Ms. Serra, Ms. Bijen and all the beautiful members of the team. With respect and love...
S. Serra Erdoğan : We thank you.
