Centuries of artistic inspiration drawn together, from ancient Middle Eastern panels to futuristic abstractions
The art of Mihran Avetisyan is extraordinarily varied. His creations are multi-themed and multi-genre, with subjects sweeping from mythology to contemporary, even futuristic, views. One canvas may present an abstract assembly of shapes in lush fruit tones; another may show nude figures in a style reminiscent of ancient Middle Eastern panels—not surprising for a painter born in the Zoroastrian city of Baku.
One looks at the paintings of Mihran Avetisyan and sees that he is a master of harmonic composition. The viewer is charmed by their rhythm, the play of light, the magic transformation of ordinary paint into fairy colors. It is significant that Avetisyan is a graduate of the Yerevan Theatrical and Art institute.
Avetisyan’s work has been showcased in numerous exhibitions in Armenia, Canada, the USA and Germany.
