Anastasia is a contemporary abstract impressionist painter renowned for her vibrant and distinctive work. Her art delves into the vulnerable aspects of her inner world, acting as a bridge for viewers to explore their own hidden truths. It inspires individuals to embrace authenticity and uncover the veiled aspects of their identities and the broader human experience.

Anastasia was born in South Africa and currently resides between Cyprus and the United Kingdom. She holds a BA in Physiatrics and Interior Design and is a self-proclaimed artist with no formal training. Painting since childhood, her creative journey began in interior design, where she designed and implemented large scale residential projects. This culminated in winning a national design award from the Rug Co. Despite the success, Anastasia’s passion lay with the canvas.

The early work utilized pencil, charcoal and watercolors. Quickly earning Anastasia a growing reputation. Many portraits and children’s art commissions followed. Once relocated to Cyprus her work was exhibited across establishments such as the Park Mansions Hotel, En Plo Gallery, Gallery K and Kallepia Gallery. These exhibitions helped facilitate significant sales and print media coverage.

Thought, feeling and the stripping of the human condition can best describe the work. Prolonged periods of deep meditation results in spontaneous, explosive painting sprees. Anastasia’s style is best described as fluid, always shifting in tandem with the energy felt.

Anastasia style is diverse, and so is her choice of mediums. She primarily works with oil, acrylic, ink and pencil. Free brushstrokes, bold compositions and thick application of color is often prevalent, though this can be in direct contrast to some deliberately controlled edges and detailed ink work.

The artist’s approach is deeply introspective, yet universally evocative, pushing boundaries and inviting dialogue about the nature of existence. The paintings serve to ignite curiosity and serve as a portal to different levels and dimensions, both seen and unseen, ultimately connecting with the soul and fostering the expansion of thought.
