Ana BLOOM is a visual artist, photographer,performance artist, art director. She is born in 1970 from a political refugee’s father, himself born from a big family of Ukraine during the Great Russia - during a first exile he became Cuban, at the second one he arrived in the United States of America, then in France - and a French mother of unknown origins. raised in a cosmopolitan and universalist environment, she experiments various form of art and photography. She obtained her university degrees in History and Technical and Sciences of photography and visual arts respectively at the Paris University of Paris 7 and Paris 8. Since her first exhibition at the Gallery Mourlot of New-York in 1994 her artistic research explore the question of identities, the transgenerational traumas, the relationship of humankind and nature, the History and the philosophical and spiritual questions of our times. In that perspective she doesn’t hesitate to disrupt the viewer with visual proposition defiant the communally admitted aesthetic rules which would often apply only for representing a pleasant vision. I addition she created workshops using art to serve social purposes « Neighboring Frontiers, Crossed Portraits », using images as a tool to foster fraternity and sorority. She teaches in international art school at master level. Based in Paris, work in France and worldwide. Engaged since 2015 on the journey « la route des SOUFFLES, BREATH project ».
