Augusto Rodrigues Da Costa

Born on March 2nd, 1933 in Satao (Viseu, Portugal). Its youth in Angola passes where his father exploits a planting of coffee. Birth of its artistic vocation. First exhibition in Luanda at 22 years. A grant allows him to come to Lisbon to study at the College of higher education of Nice Arts. Professor of painting and drawing at the School of Decorative arts Antonio Arroio.

His thesis on "Problems of space" in 1966 supports. A grant of studies of International Institute of Education, New York gets in 1967.

On the way back, in 1969, settles in France, to Amiens - Enlisted man for season as assisting interior decorator of Ballet - Contemporary Theatre, then installed in the new Home of Culture. The Direction of the Cultural affairs of Sum orders it a sculpture and wall painting for 4 schools of the department. Charged with the lesson of plastic arts to the University of Picardy - Teacher in the Art school. It will be until 1998 Responsible exhibitions at home for the Culture (Maison de la Culture) of Amiens. He comes back then to Portugal where he dies on July 29th, 2013. More than 2000 painting, watercolours, lacquers, drawings are kept and photographed.
