This ceramic bust depicts a serene male figure enveloped by intricate Delftware-inspired florals that seem to take on a life of their own. The blue botanical motifs stretch delicately across his face, neck, and shoulders, as though they are drawn to his beauty and compelled to “caress” his form. This poetic interaction blurs the line between decoration and the figure itself, giving the impression that the floral patterns are alive—gently embracing his contours in an expression of admiration and reverence. The piece carries a surreal quality, with the floral patterns appearing almost animate, interacting with the figure as if captivated by his presence. Crafted through digital techniques that capture the essence of hand-painted porcelain, this bust harmonizes tradition with contemporary artistry, presenting viewers with a tranquil, dreamlike scene where art and life coexist seamlessly.

Born in Brescia in 1957 and raised in Milan, Alberto Capitani is a digital artist bridging classical training and contemporary technology. A piano graduate of the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory (with further studies in composition and electronic music), he also pursued mathematical logic and theoretical philosophy at the University of Milan. For over four decades he taught piano in music-oriented middle schools.
In recent years he has focused on visual arts, working with Midjourney, DALL·E, and ChatGPT. To date he has created about 1,700 works, often organized in series: images and texts are conceived as complementary, while series statements provide the red thread that frames each collection as a coherent whole. His research remains deliberately open in style: style is a means (and at times the spark) in the pursuit of artistic substance, rather than a fixed goal.
Artist Statement
I work at the intersection of images and words. Many pieces are conceived as pairs: an image and a concise description that complete each other artistically. Beyond single works, I build graphic-conceptual stories—sequences guided by a series statement that sets context, tone, and direction.
Artificial intelligence is my studio partner. Between algorithm and metaphor—light and irony—I search for forms that question themselves and invite the viewer to follow the thread of the series. Each work negotiates between the visible and the invisible, the structured and the spontaneous, the human and the artificial.
