Manuel Rocha nasceu a 11 de Janeiro de 1977, em Angra do Heroísmo, Ilha Terceira.
Desde muito novo começou a trabalhar no negócio do pai e aos 17 anos ingressou no exército, do Regimento de Infantaria de Angra do Heroísmo, onde adquiriu a sua carteira profissional na área da Restauração de Antiguidades e Serralharia, sendo depois convidado para o cargo de chefia das oficinas do Museu de Angra.
Antes de adquirir a formação de restauro de antiguidades e serralharia, já tinha feito o curso Técnico Profissional de Gestão Empresarial.
Aos 12 anos de idade entrou no Conservatório Musical de Angra do Heroísmo, como aluno de guitarra clássica, e dos 17 aos 20 anos formou 2 bandas musicais, sendo ele o letrista e compositor. Desistiu do Museu de Angra e fez da música a sua actividade como animador nocturno de vários bares da cidade.
Depois de casado e encontrando melhores condições para exercer a sua antiga profissão, vem com a família para o concelho da Praia da Vitória, onde habitualmente vive.
Hoje, impossibilitado de exercer a sua actividade por causa da sua debilitação física, vive como autodidacta para a pintura na descoberta e aplicação de várias técnicas.
