Marie-Jeanne van de Velde (MJ), 15.10.1957 is een geschoold hedendaagse Vlaamse kunstenaar uit Ronse, Belgie. . Geboren met een artistiek oog, en een passie voor schilderen, beeldhouwen. juwelen en keramiek maakt zij onder de naam MJ. Het werk kan abstract of figuratief zijn. Cobra en Miro zijn haar inspiratiebron. De materie kan een esthetische of symbolische betekenis krijgen binnen de context van het hele werk, het kan iets van zijn oorspronkelijke identiteit behouden. Haar carrière begon als professioneel schilder in 1988 en ondertussen werd ze ook een begaafd keramiste die altijd experimenteert met nieuwe materialen en technieken.Haar werken worden ook tentoongesteld in binnen- en buitenland en eigen galerij in Ronse (B). Elk werk is authentiek en handgesigneerd.
