Gilles Mével is een multidisciplinaire kunstenaar en reiziger. Hij beoefent schilderen, tekenen, fotografie en digitale kunst.
Een echte reizende kunstenaar, vanaf 1975, het was de roep van reizen die hem naar vele landen in Europa en Afrika bracht. Maar het is West-Indië, waar hij drie jaar zal blijven, in Haïti en vervolgens in Guadeloupe, dat zijn werk diep zal markeren.
Hij zal, ingeschreven in zijn palet, een licht en kleuren terugbrengen die de originaliteit van zijn werk maken. Zijn unieke en gevoelige kijk op de wereld is doordrenkt met grote poëzie gecombineerd met een oprechtheid die ons alleen kan raken.
Gilles Mével heeft sinds 1989 zijn studio opgezet op het schiereiland Quiberon, waar hij sindsdien een verrassende en geïnspireerde visie op Bretagne en andere bereisde horizonten heeft getoond. Hij werd geboren in 1953 in de regio Parijs. Als kind ontdekte hij Bretagne en al de rijkdom van zijn licht. Van 1972 tot 1975 was het de periode van het hoger onderwijs aan de Beaux-Arts in Parijs en Avignon waar hij leerde tekenen en beeldhouwen. Hij heeft deelgenomen aan vele tentoonstellingen in Frankrijk en in het buitenland.
