Artist Statement:

The essence of "Home" is a complex tapestry woven from threads of memory, loved ones, new connections, climate, and histories. This painting delves into the multifaceted nature of this concept, inviting viewers to contemplate what truly constitutes the feeling of belonging and comfort.

At its core, the composition centers around a black lady gazing out of her Montreal apartment window on a crisp fall day. Her contemplative gaze extends beyond the confines of her immediate surroundings, connecting with a series of vignettes that together form a rich tableau of home.
