ISABELLE DELAMARRE
SERIES ON WOMAN
THE FEMALE NUDE has been drawn only after the masculine nude (Michel Ange used to represent naked men)
The nude raises only as art category itself around the 20th century where it is still taboo, even nowadays, especially from the religious fundamentalist point of view which could come from any courantts; while the world need peace.
From my design education, I did a lot of sketches of naked body. Then I start to work on the female nude in movement at the following workshop: the: "Crocq'vif at Suresnes, "Grands Ateliers" at Rueil, at "Pièce unique" and others...but what's matter is not the body anymore, my purpose is not to study the anatomy, what is important is the moment where the shape fall slightly into the abstract universe, where the lines and the colours of the underlying reality turn to be the main highlight focus to create a synthetic symbolic picture.
Following this path, I got my inspiration from famous painters ( such as Modigliani, Degas, Renoir, Courbet, Ingres, Gauguin, Valloton, Klimt, Matisse, Picasso, les Nabis, Klein,....Bonnefoi , more recently...)
and sculptors (Arman, Maillol, and many others artists and BD Hergé) : It is really important for myself to absorb and transmit the inspiration of the famous canvas, overall mythic because they are all in our collective mind, and keep this cultural heritage against the current violence to finally extract the beauty, adding my own sensible filter to emphasise the lines and movement.
Paint female nude is from my perspective live give a sense of the beauty, of the seduction, of the symbolic gesture, more broadly it is a stong way to resist and defend my woman identity? equal to the men and make exist my cultural heritage of the antic Greece wher the religious symbolwere looking for the city wellness.
