Gray has painted many well known artists,poets,musicians, actors etc., such as Augustus John,Patrick Swift, Tracey Emin, Samuel Beckett,Brendan Behan,Ted Hughes,Derry O`Sullivan,Sean Brophy, Alfred Schnittke,John Tavener, Helena Bonham Carter, Juliette Binoche,and Gian Maria Volonte. UNESCO Paris mounted a retrospective of his work in 1994. In 2000 the film director Kerry Franzman directed and produced the film ``Reginald Gray. Portrait of a Portrait Artist ``which was selected for The New York Film Festival. Recently Gray was awarded the Gold
Medal by The Internazionale d'Arte Moderna, Ferrara.Italy and has since been made an Associate member of Accademia del Verbano di Lettere,Arti,Scienze.i His Santa Maria Magdalena hangs in The Church of The Holy Cross, St.Pancras,London.
