About this collection
13 Artworks - Chairs
November 2009: Oddly I feel attracted to chairs and the idea of "painting as furniture" (and vice-versa).
Chairs are useful, ubiquitous, overlooked, banal. I like their graphic lines and the way they literally sit in space. They are suggestive of human presence and absence. I associate them with mixed feelings: work, rest, relief, solitude and meetings.
