About this artwork: This painting is one of the first wood series. These artworks are the result of the artist’s idea to break free from the convention of painting within a rectangular frame. The artist uses the whirling technique to convey reflections on a life which is sometimes sunny and carefree, other times dark and full of problems; sometimes moving directly forward and focussed on a goal, other times wandering and lost. He created this new style of oil painting by adapting the forms of traditional Turkish marbling, which is a water based technique to imprint designs onto paper. The result generates a similar visual effect to marbling although the technique is entirely different.
