“With virtuosity, the touch erases certain details to privilege others.
Like a furtive glance at the motif which draws out the essential with force and
insight. The mastery of the composition, orchestrated around vigorous foregrounds, offers a lot of dynamism to the work of this painter who shows a beautiful maturity of execution. Although still young, he testifies to a career which has enabled him to acquire the technique in order to better free himself from it. When he was six he took part in his first drawing lessons. At 19, he is a professional painter, flirting with the galleys of a life which allows him to build himself by learning the trade. Although gifted, he constantly puts the motif back to work, giving time to time. During this period, he took courses in Fine Arts without finding what he was looking for, preferring, he says: "his own experience to the great theories". Essentially self-taught, a few years later, he taught his art and met his first merchant who brought him a little financial ease. He was not satisfied with this modest success, preferring to improve himself with other techniques. He is confronted with watercolor
during Moroccan stays which lead him to discover the importance of shadows and atmospheres. These scenes of life take on a more natural dimension
which influences all of his work […] ”
