Marco Sergio Fassiotti
Marco Sergio Fassiotti is a contemporary Italian painter whose artistic journey took a transformative turn at the age of 30 when he discovered a newfound passion for abstractionism and naïve painting. Initially experimenting with small works in ink in 1977, followed by modest-sized naïf pieces in 1982, it wasn't until the early 2000s that Fassiotti's artistic evolution intersected with the influence of Jackson Pollock and his informal art.
Since June 2010, Fassiotti has dedicated himself more consistently to painting, resulting in the completion of approximately ninety works to date. His technique revolves around the use of six basic water-based enamel colors: white, black, red, yellow, green, and blue. These colors are applied indifferently on canvas, pressed cardboard, or wood, allowing Fassiotti to explore different textures and surfaces in his compositions.
Notably, Fassiotti's paintings do not bear an external signature, as he leaves it to the imagination of the observer to determine the orientation of the artwork. However, each piece is accompanied by a signed and authenticated parchment on the back, containing all essential data pertaining to the work.
Through his abstract and naïve paintings, Marco Sergio Fassiotti invites viewers to engage with his compositions on a visceral and intuitive level, transcending the boundaries of traditional artistic conventions. His works serve as vibrant reflections of his inner creative journey, inviting audiences to interpret and immerse themselves in the colorful and dynamic world he creates on canvas.
