Taking inspiration from my love of beach life and the shore, I developed this rolling wave technique in several of my polymer clay jewelry pieces first exhibited in September 2010 at the Killingworth Library. The process of painting with clay requires an artist to be open to the clay itself. The design of the wave is established, but the detail and the movement is dictated by the spontaneous color mixing process. No two will ever be alike. I will continue to explore this subject and process in future clay paintings. Framed in a black floater frame with a silver lip.

After several years as a freelance designer, Gloria yearned for a more organic connection to the arts. Her first workshop with master pastelist Ellie Bender was the catalyst that launched her fine art career. Gloria since explored oil painting and she is currently painting primarily on silk with acrylic mediums. Many of the techniques Gloria offers in her silk painting workshops are integrated into many of her fine art paintings as well as her hand painted scarves. Gloria enjoys experimenting and keeping her options open when it comes to mediums and this passion has also blossomed into her own unique line of jewelry. One-of-a-kind pieces featuring original hand sculpted beads, focals and findings.

A degree in Graphic Design from Pratt Phoenix/Institute, New York, N.Y., along with Gloria's fine art background have given her the capability to attain success in many facets of art & design. Consequently this has enabled Gloria to share her love of art with many others. Offering classes, workshops and weekly programs at the Arts Center Killingworth, Chester Village West retirement Community, Essex Meadows Lifecare Retirement Community, Clinton Parks & Recreation and private lessons and workshops on request.
