Working in the Charente region of France, West has worked in 2006 and 07 on a series of drawings and

paintings on the human form moving through a trap-door and other spaces, this refers back to an earlier

phase of work in the 80s and 90s of the working figure - dynamic energy through action and architectural

spaces of building sites. On a recent trip to India Stephen started working on landscape and birds again

and engaged in a series of charcoal drawings of human animal mythologies.
