 An artist was born and looked about himself in search of ideas. But - curious - he had immediately the experience and said: I need to have enough money first and then I will have the Art. He has gone on staring at the world but instead of getting colours and images he only realized how to do his own business. Afterwards, once he had the money, he thought it was the moment to let his soul act and he has waited for images, colours and ideas. But nothing came to him and he stayed alone and disappointed with his money while the desire of the only animate life, the one of thought, did not allow him to enjoy his money. And then he thought: maybe this heavy money is tieing me down, down as a chain. Well then, he threw the money straightaway and has waited for his destiny to enliven. But neither in that case his wish was fullfilled because his thought was full of the memory of the money he had thrown away. When he died, sad as he was, asked the Creator: why did you make me think you have given me a soul as an artist? And the Creator answered: the soul is now returning to me is the one of an artist but you forgot to bring your body with you as it understands the reason why once your soul had been choked. My body stank so much that I could not take it with me, said the artist. I think it has stank before as well, replied the Creator. Arte, Italo Svevo
