• Martin was born in Bristol, England, and studied art from a young age. He specialised in Natural History Illustration at Bournemouth and Poole College of Art and Design before completing a degree at Sunderland University.
From his studio in Bristol Martin works primarily in oils and achieves his distinctive style by using a layered technique, deliberately pushing areas of the painting back and others forward giving the subject weight and a realistic impression of light.
