• Currently, art compositions and images; painting oil on canvas, mixing some digital images + video considerations that are not just about observation; but trying to engage with what lies behind the observation. Some is based on raw emotion and feeling, psychology, a sensing of the spiritual element of life. I consider photography, which can be superb, but these are places where much photography has difficult in expressing. In some ways my painting/composition has a background of scientific methodology, whence there is the observational raw data, which can be painted as landscapes, seascapes, portraits etc. But as in scientific method it is perhaps more interesting to analyse the raw data to try and understand the underlying processes that bring about the effect. So currently, I am painting beyond the observational, trying to express a sense of that cause which brings about the effect -yes, well maybe.
