• A Different Point of View Gretchen Martini studied 2-D and 3-D art at Eastern New Mexico University culminating in a Bachelors of Fine Art with a minor in Anthropology. She continued her education in Computer Imaging at the Minnesota School of Business in Richfield, MN. Gretchen resides in Neenah, WI with her husband and her daughter. Gretchen has displayed her art throughout the United States and private collections include North America and parts of Europe. Gretchen now sells her art on etsy and Fine Art America.
“Much of my work is centered around form and color, whether it be abstract or the human figure. I love the play on different mediums and how they can compliment each other, or in some cases distract each other. I strive to find a sense of balance in each composition, amidst the array of color, texture and subject matter.
The reference for my paintings include the work of past artists, memory, imagination, dreams and everyday experiences. My aim is not necessarily to represent something realistically, but to make the elements of the painting work together, providing what I hope might be an engaging, lively experience for the viewer.
