Eugene Ivanov
40 years old, was born in Russia, in Siberia (Tyumen). He has ended the Tyumen Industrial Institute on a speciality engineer-geophysicist. After three years of working in a domain of mineral-oil geology he has chosen a trade closer to the fine arts - the advertising designer.
Since childhood Eugene was fond of drawing, last 18 years he is engaged in painting and graphic professionally. The first experiences with a pencil, ink and a paper have gradually replaced by the canvases drawn with oil, and also recently water-colors.
Absence of special formation does not prevent the artist to be engaged in painting of the pro-ducts uniting elements of a landscape realism, yards and back streets of the Old Town in Prague, a classical still-life with modern styles of the beginning of the 20 century - a cubism, a suprematism and an expressionism.
From arising of the first picture in 1988 about today Eugene has created over 900 graphics and picturesque works.
Since 1989 the artist actively exposes his works at joint or personal exhibitions. They are also in several private collections in Czech Republic, Germany, Israel, Poland, Russia, UK, USA and so on.
Last 8 years Eugene Ivanov lives and works in Prague, co-operating with Prague and Ostrava galleries and publishing houses. So the coloring book with his figures has left in 2000 in publishing house "Pierot". And in 2001 artist won the first place in the competition of illustrations organized by Belgian publishing house "Wallonie-Bruxelles".
His first personal exhibition in the Czech Republic, which was very important in the Eugene’s art career, happened in autumn 2002. This exhibition was organized at support Ostrava group of artists called "Spolek Mlejn".
The next Ivanov’s personal exhibition happened in the Russian Centre Of Science And Culture in October - November 2003.
7-9.05.2004 took part in an exhibition "Art Ireland Summer Collection 2004", RDS Industries Hall, Dublin, Ireland.
In 2004 illustrated the children's book "Busunsul and Paskualina" within the limits of the project of the organization " International Step By Step Association ".
13-15.05.2005 took part in an exhibition "Art Ireland Summer Collection 2005", RDS Industries Hall, Dublin, Ireland.
28-30.10.2005 took part in the North's largest selling contemporary art fair “Manchester Art Show", Manchester, Great Britain (UK).
25-27.11.2005 took part in an exhibition "Art Ireland Winter Collection 2005", which takes place in the Main Hall of RDS, Dublin, Ireland. The event hosts exhibitions from over one hundred and forty five galleries and independent artists.
In the end of 2005 Eugene Ivanov together with two artists Moarch Eveno and Adolf Born has taken part in the Christmas exhibition. The exhibition passed from 22.12.2005 to 01.01.2006 in a building of municipality Ostrozska Nova Ves, Slovacko, Czech Republic.
31.3 - 01.4.2006 – Art Ireland Spring Collection 2006, RDS Main Hall, Dublin, Ireland. Art Ireland Spring Collection features work from over 80 artists and galleries, exhibiting a wide range of paintings, prints, photograghs and sculptures.
